In Memory of Hiroshi Kato

I've had this work sitting around being piece-by-piece worked on since apparently 2009. I wanted to test some painting style I saw in a tutorial, (I know not where now), and I wanted to have a picture of this man for my own. (This was referenced from a friend's personal photo.) I sort of left it to drift, until the news of his having left this world today came to me. Only then did I remember I had even started it. My husband and son take Aikido, and he is the Shihan ( [link] ) of their dojo. I met him a couple times during seminars where he would travel to our country to teach the students here. I thought he was funny and sweet, and I admired him for a lot of reasons. I will certainly miss him in the world, as I am sure his family and friends and students will. I hope it does him some justice. [link]
